New discs cover MTV, CMT hits for PianoDisc
April 20, 2005

PianoDisc has three new collections of songs that were recent hits on MTV and CMT---each one bringing music of the "00's" to player pianos everywhere.

The Popular category has a new entry with 21st Century Pop  (PD/CD 2011 in the Popular category) featuring songs originally made famous by such artist as Vanessa Carlton, Norah Jones, Dido, Avril Lavigne and Christina Aguielera.  These new pop classics are played for PianoDisc by Steve Siu, a Southern California-based artist who began his professional career at the age of seventeen when he was the youngest pianist ever to be hired to perform at various Nordstrom stores.  A graduate of USC , Steve has delighted audiences at many discriminating venues and is currently the resident pianist at the Montage Resort and Spa in Laguna Beach, California.  Steve has developed into a prolific recording artist with seven solo piano albums to his credit, including a five-CD set called "The Most Requested" series.

The songs on From This Moment (PD/CD 1004 in the Country & Western category) were originally recorded by some of today's hottest country artists, including Shania Twain, Martina McBride, Clint Black, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Allison Krauss, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, to name but a few.  The common theme of all of these beautifully written songs is love: young love, lost love and love that lasts forever.

As its title suggests, For The Love Of Country (PD/CD 1005 in the Country & Western category) is a collection of patriotic songs, specifically contemporary country hits that deal with pride in the USA.  Originally recorded by some of country music's most popular stars (including Vince Gill, Alan Jackson and Faith Hill), these finely crafted songs express deep appreciation for our country and the men and women who have protected it as well as hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Both of these country collections were recorded by
the newest member of our country artist roster, Kyle Hankins.  After graduating from Belmont University with a degree in music theory and composition, Kyle moved to Nashville to pursue a career in country music.  He soon began touring throughout North America and Europe with several well known country artists, most notably Lacy J. Dalton. In addition to session work, Kyle is the official keyboard player for Nashville's NHL team, the Predators.
